Data Communication has 5 components
1. Sender -
The one who sends the message.
2. Receiver -
The one who receives the message.
3. Message -
The information or data which is sent by the sender. It has the address of the receiver. Ex - Text, numbers, pictures, audio, video, etc.
4. Transmission Medium -
The transmission medium is a connection between the sender and receiver, and it carries the message to be transmitted. Example - twisted-pair wise, fiber-optical cable, microwaves, radio waves, etc.
5. Protocol -
Both the parties or devices agree on a set of rules to conduct data communication. Communication never occurs between a person who understands only Sanskrit and a person who understands only English.
Note - Communication is the understanding of what others say.
If both will agree on the same language then communication will occur. This is called Protocol.
